Mi Sopa es MUY Caliente

I always love to create my own original recipes but I decided to venture out and cook a few more things from cookbooks. I think it is a good base for creating my own recipes. I also preordered Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, so if your my friend, you already know what your birthday present is going to be.

Basil Tofu Ricotta

(Vegan With A Vengence pg. 133)

It did not taste like ricotta but was still really good with whole wheat pasta.

Chipotle, Corn, and Black Bean Stew
(pg.60)

This is the second try on this soup. The first time my mom and I split up the ingredients to prepare. One of her jobs was preping the spicy hot chipotle chiles. When I went for my first spoonfull of the soup, my eyes began to water and my mouth was on fire. It turns out, my mom added two CANS of chiles! The recipe called for two chiles (that is about 16 more then we needed) The next go around for this soup producted fantastic results.

I always complain about my camera (example). I have been saving forever for a good DSLR camera. I have settled on the Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR. I am still searching online for the best price. If anyone has an comments on DSLR cameras please share.

Those are two of my favorite VWaV recipes--the ricotta I constantly make variations on, and with the stew I add more beans and more heat--though not 2 CANS of chipotles! LOL!

Ooohhh! New camera! Thats the one I've been drooling over myself, Susan on Fat Free Vegan just got one in the last couple of months, and the girl from "the girl who ate everything" (http://www.roboppy.net/food/) uses one too, and all of their pics look great. I want one so much, but I need to pay off the laptop and photoshop software I bought first (darn having to be responsible).

Try amazon for the camera, I looked it up and the list price for a black one, including the lens was $699 (as of a few minutes ago), with free shipping (if you have amazon prime or know someone who does, you can upgrade the shipping to 2 day for free)

I need to check out that ricotta recipe -- it looks great.

I bet that was some hot stew (LOL). I did that before when adding chipotles to cooked black beans. They set my tongue on fire!

I've been thinking about ordering that cookbook. May wait now until you get it to see how you like it.

I make the ricotta all the time, it's great with baked ziti/lasagna, too!

The carrot cookies on my blog are veganized from Cookies: Food Writers' Favorites edited by Barbara Gibbs Ostmann and Jane Baker. I posted the veganized version at: http://theflyingvegan.blogspot.com/2006/09/carrot-cookies-and-cross-stitch.html#links but I would reccomend doubling the amount of flax egg that I posted in the original recipe.

Purchasing memory is such a time consuming process... You have to search online for prices, sort through which ones are genuine, step out and walk around a bunch of stores, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then fervently pray that the price doesn't fall in the next month or so.

I've been done in by crazy price changes in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD for my DS flashcard at what apparently was a steal, only to later see that it fell by five bucks in a week's time.

(Posted using OperaMod for R4i Nintendo DS.)
