Thanksgiving- The Good, The Bad, and The Yukky

Oh, Thanksgiving. The special time of year when I get to show case my cooking skills to the family. This year I made my pies the day before, so I had lots of time for cooking the next day. In the crazy rush, I had to take fast pictures so the quality of some of them are not so good.

Pumpkin pie (whole wheat crust from scratch)

Chocolate silk pie (crust from scratch)

Sesame tofu from whole foods

Green beans cooked in the wok with soy sauce

Salad

Corn (bad pic)
Sad sweet potatoes. I worked so hard to scoop all the insides out of the skins and then I poured the soy milk over them and THEN noticed the lumps and the smell. Sadly, the milk had gone bad. New rule, ALWAYS smell before using.

Everything looks so good - chocolate silk pie, yum!

I've never had soy milk go bad either and I'm not sure what bad soymilk would smell like.

I hope you had a great holiday with your family!
